I’m a fan of using the simplest, easiest and cheapest solutions for recording and editing when it comes to getting a story, but I’m also a real stickler for quality when I get to the production stage. That’s why I am excited about Hindenburg Mobile, an iPhone app (Note: Renamed Hindenburg Field Recorder) that I have already used as an alternative to the professional standard Marantz or Sony recorders that I have used in the past. I have been amazed at the possibilities of this app and the accompanying software.
I’ll write more on this later, but for now the best place to see more is the Hindenburg site. Be sure to check it out. I especially like the graphic design. The characters in their depiction of the Hindenburg incident show up on various spots both on their site and in the applications as well. The makers really thought this one out!
