Among other things, I do audio production at an NPR member station. Much of it is simple, like localizing the promo spots provided by national program producers such as This American Life. I try to do a little extra and make them more interesting when I can.
This week I was working on a series of fund raising spots NPR provides for local stations. They had a couple of cold voice reads done by Leonard Nimoy. He did some nice work and he even used the “logical” space analogies you’d expect. But it was missing something.
I got permission (under fair use I guess) to include less than a minute of the Star Trek theme. I did a bit of creative editing and the result turned out really nice… well I thought so. I was on a tight deadline so I was glad I got a chance to make this happen.
